The most interesting part of this film to me were the incredibly unique visuals. It would have been easy to go for a high-gloss 3D look similar to many "straight to netflix" Lego films that already exist. But what you get with this film is a very complex stop-motion film. Aided by technology, some of the more intricate scenes seem almost impossible to execute as stop-motion and are stunning. The story line does not explore any new ground. In fact, it's pretty much straight from the Matrix. It works, since this is a kids' show, and because it's a Lego show. Chris Pratt carries the show and it was neat to see his charm come through, regardless of the physical limitations of his Lego character. Morgan Freeman's character was also fun. I'm not really into writing clean conclusions so I'm going to end this review abruptly right now.
