Even with the saucy Frances Sternhagen acting as the no-nonsense voice of reason and Rob Reiner playing the foolish lounge pianist with the bad rug, they can’t elevate this film to warm-and-fuzzy status. The absurdity only gets worse as one of the apartment dwellers decides to have a baby on Oren’s couch. Groan. And I haven’t even mentioned Douglas and Keaton’s painfully uncomfortable attempts at playing romper room. So, “And So It Goes” goes in various directions predictably and with the delicate touch of a jackhammer. It does have its tender moments, but they are not enough to make up for the forced lunacy surrounding them... See Full Review
