It may be called No Escape, but there are so many close calls and narrow escapes, it’s like 2012 if the Earth hated Americans. What starts out as an effective and downright terrifying thriller turns silly midway through because of, ahem, overkill. A cartoony Pierce Brosnan is fun, but adds to the unreality of the peril, diffusing a very promising first half. But if you just want a fun potboiler, you could do a lot worse.
